Cenote Ik Kil, sometimes mistakenly referred to as Cenote Chichén Itzá owing to its location just 5 kilometers east of Chichén Itzá Archaeological Site and frequently visited afterward, is a large open air cenote that makes for a scenic swimming location. Cenote Ik Kil is a beautiful and popular cenote within a commercial development that includes restaurants, bars, gift shops, and lodging. This is the type of commercial development where employees dress up in traditional Mayan outfits. It is an extremely popular tour bus stop for those on their way to or from the nearby archaeological site.
