This listing is for vellum overlay paper only and does not include finished invitations. Vellum is a versatile paper that works perfectly for everything from card making to scrap booking, or anything you can imagine! The transparent (translucent) properties allow you to use it as a separate beautiful paper on its own or as an overlay on top of another image that you can see underneath the vellum, or even for tracing designs. The translucent property of this paper makes it similar to frosted glass, such that it is partally see-through. Printed vellum can also be lighted from behind to create a beautifully illuminated image. Although the word vellum used to refer only to a type of paper made from calfskin, modern vellum is made from cotton and wood pulp. WHAT IT FEELS LIKE: The 48 lb. weight (180 GSM) is more substantial than the lighter weight vellum. it feels like a lightweight card stock. It is moderately heavy, rigid, and should be scored with a bone folding tool before folding to avoid cracking along the fold. It is thick enough to be used as a lightweight, stand-alone invitation card, or it also works well as a sturdy backer, wrap, top layer, etc. SOME POPULAR USES: 48 lb vellum has medium translucent properties, allowing you to see through it, but also highlight the message/images on the vellum overlay. Heavyweight 48lb vellum has a lot of great uses! - Printed invitation top layer - Program cover - Heavyweight vellum gate fold/wrap - Printed invitation inserts/supplements (think little direction cards, registry cards, additional info, etc.) If you need a different quantity than this listing, please Convo me and I can create a custom listing for your desired quantity! PRINTING: Our vellum will work on most inkjet and laser printers. You can simply place the paper in the printer as you would any regular paper and print your document or text onto it. HELPFUL PRINTING TIPS: ~ Select “economy”, “draft” or “speed” print mode (depending on the specific machine). This will lay down the least amount of ink possible, making it harder for the ink to smear. ~ Let the ink dry completely before stacking printed sheets or handling the vellum. ~ Use “transparency” mode in your paper type settings if your printer has it HELPFUL HANDLING TIPS: Vellum is a delicate paper that is best stored in a flat, dry place.
