Lye is also known as sodium hydroxide. Lye forms a great soap base for the production of lye soap. Our lye comes in a safe container fitted with a resealable child resistant cap. Food Grade is the lye of choice for soap making. Other household uses for this powerful lye are drain clog cleaning, oven grease removing and as a cleaning agent. Lye has traditionally been used as the main ingredient in soap making.
