LYRA RAINBOW PENCILS This fun and creative multicolor Rainbow Pencil draws 4 different colors at the same time. Delightful fun!  Each pencil has: red, blue, green and yellow in the same lead. Not only is this a fun pencil for kids, the barrel shape also keeps this pencil from rolling off the table and makes it more comfortable to hold. The pencils are long-lasting, and durable, and deliver color that is smudge-proof and waterproof.   TRIANGULAR OR HEXAGONAL BARREL? Though either barrel can be used by anyone ages 3 years and older, the triangular barrel encourages children to use a true and correct pincer grip when holding the pencil. This is an important fine motor and handwriting set of hand muscles known as the tripod grip muscles. A hexagonal barrel does not encourage this same grip. If you'd like to use the hexagonal barrel, we recommend it for children who already have the correct handwriting grip. Both pencils can also reduce hand fatigue (and this includes for adults who may have a harder time due to factors like aging, painful joints or reduced sensation in the hands) as well. Beyond that, it's just personal preference and country of origin. The Triangular Barrel (Ferby and Super Ferby) are made in Germany and the Hexagonal Barrel (Color Giants) are made at Lyra's facility in China.  SAFETY Lyra Colored Pencils are made from wood harvested from a sustainably managed forest with PEFC certification. They are Art + Creative Materials Institute Certified (ACMI) + AP certified as nontoxic. They are also CE marked and so conform to European standards for health, safety and environmental protection.
