This high-copper 18-gauge wire solder is self-fluxing because it contains phosphorus, but added flux usage is recommended. This wire solder is often used for 'stick' soldering. Easy to handle it allows you to continually 'feed' solder to your task as you work Also, solder will not flow correctly if the piece your soldering is not heated properly allowing the flux to flow. The use of this solder is to be used with a torch not a soldering iron.
