Derivan Medium - Water-based Cracking Medium

Use on its own or mix with color to create a structurally stable crackle effect on rigid surfaces. Creates a crackled texture as it dries on rigid surfaces. Dries to a hard, opaque finish. Maintains paint adhesion, durability and archival quality. Can be used on its own and painted over once dry. Can be mixed with acrylic color - using no more than 15% paint to 85% medium. Apply paste evenly to surface with a palette knife. Leave to dry for at least 24 hours before painting over.

The results will be a fine crackled pattern that makes your project look hundreds of years old. Generally, the thicker and fresher the paint and crackle medium, the larger the cracks will be.
