Description

Ingrid Hanley, a fifth-grade-student at Hartsfield Elementary School in Tallahassee – also, a member of our Young Environmental Leaders program – has set forth the initiative of making the switch from styrofoam lunch trays in schools to reusable plastic or metal trays. There are over two million lunch trays disposed of in Leon County Schools per year, and Ingrid drew attention of this matter to the Superintendent and School Board as this is not environmentally friendly. We need to be doing as much as we can to help our current climate crisis, and Ingrid is making the right steps to do so! Read more about her work here.
