Although they are lightweight and inexpensive, they are still made of plastic, unstable and not very attractive. For designing and making custom yoga malas for your Japa meditation, they are also too small usually, as the necklaces with 108 beads are easily reaching a length of 100 cm and more. You usually sit for several hours in front of such a beading board and the process is very sensual and meditative. In my workshops, I like to photograph the participants at work and document their process. Another reason why the boards have always bothered me: the gray boards just don't look good in pictures and the beautiful gemstone malas with their semi-precious stones and gold or silver beads do not come out as well as they could with a wooden beading board. Ultimately, the development of a small collection of wooden beading boards was the logical consequence. These three different wooden beading boards are durable, stable and pleasant to touch. The surface is treated with organic, cold-pressed linseed oil and can be wiped off at any time and oiled again if necessary.
