Description

There are so many different fabric marking tools available to quilters and sewers, they can be a little bit overwhelming.  So which one is right for your sewing or quilting project? We’ve tried hard to test all of the options to bring you this overview, and we cannot say this enough: TEST TEST TEST your fabric on a scrap before committing.  To be really safe, test them over time and heat. We have heard many horror stories about phantom guide marks reappearing well after the marking was done.  Many manufacturers don’t provide clear instructions for how best to remove the markings permanently.  Also, we here at Sewing by Sarah believe better beautiful than perfect.  We are not perfectionists.   Ease of use has a lot to do with our recommendations. We sell a set of heat erasable pens and a variety pack

DRITZ-A purple fine point erasable marking pen. Pin-point tip produces a very fine, thin purple line that vanishes without washing. Be sure to test pen on a spare piece of fabric before using. Do not iron over marks as they will be set and cannot be removed. Caution: Do not use as a writing instrument for signing checks or legal documents, as signatures will fade or disappear completely.

The 4500 Textile Marker offers high quality and excellent definition on many light-colored, chemically untreated fabrics such as cotton, silk and linen, as well as on a number of mixed fabrics. The applied ink can be made permanent by ironing once (without steam), the textiles can be washed at up to 140 degrees F (60 degrees C). The marker has a resistant 2-3mm thick round nib. The water-based pigment ink is quick-drying, extremely lightfast and has a neutral smell.
